REVIEW: VACATION CRUSH is Book #5 in the Texas Cattleman’s Club Series featuring the Lattimore and Grandin families. Marketing entrepreneur, Natalie Hastings, is mortified when she realizes she expresses her feelings for Jonathan Lattimore in front of everyone at the Texas Cattleman’s Club event.

Jonathan saved Natalie from bullies when she was 13. Her crush never subsided and has blossomed to full blown feelings. He is a rugged man who has managed his family’s ranch for years. From the Stetson hat to cowboy boots, he is a sexy cowboy from head to toe. When Natalie was finally ready to “shoot her shot” in college, she discovered Jonathan a married man, then divorced. Unbeknownst to Natalie, Jonathan’s feelings are the same, so he avoids her like the plague. Interestingly, he finds her full figure sexy, which she doesn’t like about herself.

While coincidentally vacationing at the same spot, Natalie and Jonathan throw caution to the wind and explore their physical attraction. Ms. St. John captures the strong chemistry between them. It’s explosive and each love scene is steamy. They also have a lot in common and enjoy spending time together. Unfortunately, Jonathan has not gotten over something with his ex and vows to never get married again. Conversely, Natalie dreams about babies and “happily ever afters”. Ms. St. John captures the awkwardness that occurs after the dream vacation fling ends and Natalie and Jonathan return to reality in a small town. But Natalie can’t help but get lost in Jonathan’s brown eyes each time she sees him.

Ms. St. John’s writing style allows the reader to visualize scenery. In one instance, I felt like I was getting a tour of Jonathan’s beautiful home, right along with Natalie. Secondary characters round out the story, including Natalie’s best friend Chelsea, who is featured in the series. Jonathan’s Mom is the MVP. She does a little meddling, but knows what is best for her son.
VACATION CRUSH includes the elements of a fun, summer read: Sexy hero and heroine, plenty of heat, a little drama and a satisfying ending. I highly recommend it.
