REVIEW: STAND BY ME by Best-selling author Pat Simmons is an amazing book. This is the first time that I have read a book by this author, and it won’t be my last. It is the Book #3 in Pat Simmons’ Family is Forever Series. I would recommend that you read the first two books, LEAN ON ME and HERE FOR YOU, in the series before reading this story so that you will be familiar with the characters. I will definitely be going back to read both books.

STAND BY ME tells the sweet romance story of Kym Knicely and Charles “Chaz” Banks. Kym is currently a student in grad school going for her PhD in Education after helping her sisters care for their great-aunt before her passing. Chaz is a community health liaison as well as divorced father and grandfather at the young age of forty-five. Kym and Chaz first meet each other at the airport on their way home from St. Louis from visiting family. Kym and Chaz strike up a conversation on the plane and you could feel the chemistry between the pair.

When Kym and Chaz get home, they started seeing and dating each other. In the midst of them getting to know each, Chaz has to go back to St. Louis to pick up his granddaughter, Chauncey, who has autism and care for her while his daughter-in-law is on bed rest. Chaz thought he knew all about autism until he has to care for his granddaughter. Kym wants to be there and help Chaz while is preparing her dissertation because she knows what being a caregiver entailed.  Will Kym and Chaz get their happily-ever-after? You will have to read
STAND BY ME to find out.

What I loved about this book was the way that it was written. This was my first time reading a Christian Fiction book.
STAND BY ME is a feel-good book that had many life lessons inside of it. The whole book flowed so seamlessly that I felt like I was there following Kym and Chaz’s romance. Another aspect of the book that I absolutely loved was the way that the couple prayed for and with each other. I also loved the various scriptures that were throughout the whole book. The way that the couple put God first in all aspects of their relationship had me in awe. Ms. Simmons also wove in the book about autism and how the family was learning and helping Chauncey have the best life possible.

Overall, I loved reading
STAND BY ME by Pat Simmons. Christian Fiction is a genre that was new for me to read. I will definitely be reading more of Mrs. Simmons’ books because by reading STAND BY ME, it has helped me heal some and be at peace with the passing of my mom this year.
