REVIEW: CHRISTMAS IN FULL BLOOM by Denise N. Wheatley is a heart-warming read. This is the second book that I have read by this author. She is still a new to me author that I have had the pleasure of reading. Her books are slowly growing on me. In this new release, Ms. Wheatley takes us to Maple Valley, Michigan during the Christmas holiday season.
CHRISTMAS IN FULL BLOOM tells the budding romance between Lauren Beal and Mel Jennings. Lauren moved away to Chicago to start her floral design business In Full Bloom after college. When she was attending college, Lauren had a crush on Mel Jennings. Mel Jennings is a doctor following in his father’s footsteps by working at the clinic and helping in the community.
Lauren and Mel see each other again for the first time when Lauren returns home to help her sister Tina plan her wedding which she’s the maid of honor. When Lauren arrives in town, she’s so sick that her sister Tina has to call the doctor to come check Lauren out. Mel comes to Tina’s home to check out Lauren against her wishes. Mel tells them that Lauren has the flu and he prescribes her some medicine. After Lauren is well, she and Mel keep running into each in town. Lauren is still drawn to Mel and each time they get close to one another, interruptions happen. Will Lauren and Mel ever get time alone? Will the pair get their happy ever after? You will have to read the book to find out what happens next.
What I loved about the book was the wedding and Christmas theme. I also loved the small town feel of the book. I loved how Lauren made a name for herself in the big city of Chicago. The storyline flowed really well to the point that it was enjoyable to read. My favorite character in the book was Tina. She made me laugh throughout the book with her antics.
Although I wanted more spark and heat between Mel and Lauren, I totally enjoyed CHRISTMAS IN FULL BLOOM. Make sure to grab a copy of this heart-warming Christmas story.
