REVIEW:  Sean D. Young’s Love Connection Series continues with a fresh look at the Best Friends Sibling and Friends to Lovers Romance Tropes that are explored in this book. Derrick “Spyder” Webb and Sara Simmons are featured in the second book of this engaging series. The Prologue presents an intriguing opening that introduces us to the heroine and hero, their relationship, and the tension filled situation that sets the stage for what is to come. The solid well-developed storyline becomes a page-turner as the proverbial plot thickens.

Spyder Webb is a fixer, a problem solver, and best friend to Adam Simmons, (
IN NAME ONLY, Book #1) an aspiring politician with a great future and Sara’s older brother. Eight years after the devastating reveal of events that sent Sara, a college student at the time, to seek Spyder’s help, the problem has resurfaced, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. Sara, a gifted fashion designer, has an opportunity to launch her career with the help of a noted foundation that is also promoting lupus research. For her, it’s a perfect fit. Also, her brother, Adam has thrown his hat in the political ring for Governor, and his campaign manager is, of course, Spyder. It is also during this time that Sara is reunited with her college roommate, Katrina Johnson, who is also vying for the same position as Sara. Coincidence? I’ll let you be the judge of that. While dealing with the design contest that can catapult Sara to a new level in the fashion business, and a college misdeed that still is haunting her through threats from a mysterious stranger, there’s the budding love relationship that she and Spyder are finding hard to ignore. For a long time, they both have wanted to have something more between them than friendship to define them-Something more than my “best friend’s sister” or “my big brother’s best friend”. Well, I tell you when they take that huge step from friends to lovers, it is an instant love connection, and a web that captures Sara’s heart. The gripping storyline takes a notably sinister and dangerous direction as Spyder gets closer to the person who is threatening Sara.

The minor characters, family and friends, contribute to the intrigue of the story and the development of the main characters. You will find yourself breathing a sigh of relief when Spyder and Sara finally come face to face with the person who insists on destroying Sara’s life. No spoilers, my friends….you must read the story. Kudos to Ms. Young for the thoughtful inclusion of a serious disease, Lupus, that compliments the storyline. Without question, the HEA will have you smiling as Spyder and Sara finally find their happiness in each other.

I thoroughly enjoyed
CAUGHT IN HIS WEBB, and I highly recommend it. It’s a perfect mix of romance and intrigue that will captivate you from the opening pages to the end. Grab your copy. You won’t be disappointed.
