REVIEW: AUDRA is the third book in the Family Ties Series. Audra Connor Foster has a successful mommy lifestyle blog. She and her husband, Damon, have been married for nine years. He is a retired baseball player who focuses on investments and licensing deals. The couple have three children, and have unfortunately hit a rough patch in their marriage. They are no longer sizzling in the bedroom and are barely speaking.

Damon and Audra love each other and their family. Audra’s favorite part about Damon’s body is his back, which is described as “the beauty of the quilt of muscles”. She thinks he is the most handsome man she laid eyes on. Damon thinks Audra is beautiful. She didn’t know who he was when they first met and besides being physically attracted, he thought she was just normal. He misses how she soothed him and gave him peace. Their courtship was so cute. They were playful and loving. Now they long for each other from afar. I wondered, “What happened?”.

Ms. Diamond tackles how the lack of communication can tear down the strongest union. Damon had a tough upbringing until he was adopted. Things he experienced makes it difficult for him to share how he is feeling. The lack of communication, combined with an issue that hurt them both, caused the couple to grow apart. Audra feels like she isn’t good enough. I like the progression of the story from a low simmer to the boiling point. Once the “pot” boils over, things need to be addressed, for better or worse. One thing is for sure, this sexy couple is full of love and passion for each other and Ms. Diamond writes spicy scenes to prove it. There is also a touching scene with their oldest daughter that shows they would do anything to protect their kids.

I enjoyed how Ms. Diamond brings this story together. She explores therapy in a way that is so realistic. Every couple can learn from this! Damon and Audra also have a great relationship with another couple who serve as a guiding light. I got to catch up with the Connor and Santana clan and Audra’s mom and step-father are still in limbo. It will be interesting to see what’s next in their side story.
AUDRA is a great continuation of the Family Ties Series, and I highly recommend it!
