REVIEW: I had the pleasure of reading a delightful story by an author who is new to me. Edwina Martin-Arnold has penned an entertaining story that delves into the romantic interracial relationship between a Caucasian man and an African American woman. Andrea Flaven is a successful photographer who is in Paris for a photo shoot when she finds herself waking up hungover in an unfamiliar hotel room with a man she can not remember. What a predicament! As she tries to recall her obvious night of sex and the man, she obviously spent that night with, he walks into the bedroom and WOW!
Andrea’s first reaction to the man she spent the night with, regardless of his beautiful French accent, his sculptured physique, and his gentlemanly demeanor is “No, I didn’t”! Andrea is shocked to say the least. Marceau LeBlanc, the man with whom she spent a rousing night of sexual ecstasy is White. Surprise! This is brought to light in the first chapter of the story, and it just gets better and better. The storyline contains more captivating revelations and challenges concerning the heroine and hero that will keep you reading until the last page of the Epilogue. No spoilers. I want you to discover the nuances of Andrea and Marceau’s relationship that brings them closer together. The story proves, as the author states, “Love Comes in Many Packages!”
The supporting characters are vital in helping to move the storyline along. Andrea’s family is supportive and open. I have to mention the character, Giselle who pulls an “Oh no she didn’t move” that surprises both Andrea and Marceau. You’ll get it when you read the story. I love the HEA; it is quite satisfying and sweet.
I enjoyed VANILLA CHOCOLATE, and I recommend it for your reading pleasure. VANILLA CHOCOLATE is the second book in The Chocolate Romance Series, however, I read it as a stand-alone. I look forward to reading more of Edwina Martin-Arnold’s stories, and I’ll start with CHOCOLATE FRIDAY, the first book of the series.
