REVIEW: Talented author, Pamela Yaye debuts her first book with the up and coming publishing house, Rose Gold Press. CHARMED BY YOU is a foray into one of my favorite romance tropes, friends-to-lovers. Sloane Wesley and Darius Matthews have known each other for a long time. As a matter of fact, Darius is employed by Platinum Records, Sloane’s family business, as an audio engineer. He is also best friends with Sloane’s brother, Russell. Darius and Sloane have admired each other from afar, but they have never expressed their true feelings toward each other. They both have enjoyed living the single life with other partners. However, something happens to Darius on a popular television reality show that has him stepping back and pondering his future. I’ll allow you to discover what caused Darius to almost swear off relationships.

Although Sloane is not involved in her family’s multi-million-dollar music business, her position as a successful corporate lawyer in London, England is not what she desires to do with her life. Darius is well aware of Sloane’s dream job, and he encourages her to follow her dream. The heart and soul of this story is Sloane and Darius’ love journey and making dreams come true. I love their story. Between Sloan’s prestigious, opinionated family, Darius’ struggling birth mother, and his ‘all-about-me” former girlfriend, this couple has a lot to deal with. However, one thing is certain. It is during Sloane’s brother’s wedding festivities that Sloan and Darius finally come to terms with their true feelings for each other. It also becomes quite evident that they are soulmates who have explosive chemistry. My favorite scene occurs at the wedding when Darius steps up to the mic and
CHARMED BY YOU comes to life! You’ll get that when you read the story.

The storyline flows well, and the characterization is on-point. The minor characters composed of the family and friends of the hero and heroine contribute to the intrigue of the story and the development of the main characters. The Piece-of-Work Award goes to Annika, Darius’ ex. The HEA is delightful! Don’t take my word for it; read the story.

I enjoyed reading
CHARMED BY YOU, and I recommend it for your reading pleasure.

Side-note: Look for other books by a talented cadre of authors published under the newly formed
Rose Gold Press label. You can thank me later.
