REVIEW: The next distinguished gentleman up for bid is the younger brother of Kadaris Kathan (THE CONTINGENCY BID). Mama Peaches leaves no bachelor out, as she sets up her roster for the bachelor auction that serves as a fundraiser to restore her decaying community of Southlake Park. Ace Kathan, unlike his brother, is world renowned and the owner of the “largest outdoor sporting goods chain in the country”. Eyeing this bachelor with her checkbook ready is Cadence Alexander, a member of Chicago’s upper-class. She is looking forward to the advertised week-long extravagant date to an undisclosed destination with Ace. The multimillionaire bachelor is sure to please as Cadence wins easily with a final bid of $6000.00!

When the day finally comes for Ace and Cadence’s date to begin, there are a number of surprises along the way. Ace takes on the role as the renegade when the “luxury” date goes left, and Cadence finds herself exchanging her Manolo Blahniks for a pair of tennis. What was Ace thinking? Maybe Cadence, being a high maintenance Chicago Princess, will pack up and leave. The year-round camp designated for city kids is not at all the “date” that Cadence expected, but I’ll allow you to discover how she handles this dilemma.

I particularly like this story because of the revealing scenes that first-time author Kelsey Green surprises us with. No spoilers, but Ace and Cadence discover some enlightening circumstances about their lives. Moreover, the reader gets to experience the serendipity that the characters feel as those moments are disclosed. Kudos to Ms. Green for enhancing the story line with those touching revelations.

I enjoyed this latest offering to the
Distinguished Gentlemen Series. Kelsey Green does a stellar job in penning her first published Contemporary Romance. I recommend THE RENEGADE BID for your reading pleasure.
