REVIEW: When you pick up an Iris Bolling book, you can be sure that the storyline will be solid, suspenseful, sensual, and there will be unforgettable characters and memorable scenes. NEWS WITH CURVES has all that and more! The city of Richmond, Virginia is the familiar setting for the story.

When the story opens, Cahill Broadcasting Network is being bought out by Tyson Broadcasting Systems and we meet the heroine, Rachel Fontaine, who works as Production Assistant for Cahill and the new “sheriff” in town, Wade Tyson. Instant chemistry! These two have a lot in common. One, they share the same taste in music. Two, they have an innate knowledge of the news business, and three, they share a love for family. Speaking of family, Wade has four brothers who are not your average siblings. I’m going to leave that right there to let you discover what I mean. Rachel has two sisters who are “ride-or-die” to the very end. They all contribute significantly to the outcome. It’s truly a family affair, and I enjoyed that aspect of the story. Now, at the other end of the spectrum, the suspense, mayhem, and murder aspect are on the rampage. The storyline kicks into high gear as the protagonists and side characters battle against corruption in the court system, police force, and a self-serving, highly profitable prison system that is rooted in white supremacy, and the organization behind it all. Believe me when I tell you,
NEWS WITH CURVES is a page turner that you will not want to put down. Kudos to the prolific and multi-talented author, Iris Bolling, for an intriguing and captivating story.

As I indicated earlier, the story is loaded with a robust cast of complex characters. Heading that list is the highly respected Detective Nate Reigns of the Major Crime Division. I’m sure we will see more of him in the future. Besides Nate, there’s another character who will probably show up again, Christian Vaughan. He is shady and one of those characters you love to hate because his modus operandi is pure evil.

I love this story. Iris Bolling is a master storyteller, and this story does not disappoint. I have to warn you, however, that you will be left hanging until the next book. So, prepare yourself for that. In spite of that, I highly recommend
NEWS WITH CURVES. It’s a ‘must read’
