REVIEW: HER WARRIOR is a bitter-sweet offering to those of us who have followed this series from its inception because it marks the final story of the series. Not only does it mark the end of the Uncut series, but also the Diamonds series. (Sigh) However, I can’t think of a better way to end both series than with the love journey of Kyle Washington and Chloe Black. Once again, this story leaves the urban posh Los Angeles setting to venture to the dangerous jungles of Colombia.

Retrieving some valuable diamonds is the impetus for a dangerous mission that will take Kyle, Chloe and the Black Diamonds to Colombia. Kyle Washington, a highly skilled FBI Agent and Uncut Diamond is teamed with Chloe Black, the alienated twin of Trent, the leader of the Uncut Diamonds. Chloe is also highly trained, but no one has any idea of the extent of the areas of her training. She entered the Diamonds’ lives with a huge chip on her shoulder due to abandonment issues that led to her being adopted. Needless to say, at first Kyle is not happy to be teamed up with Chloe, but as he gets to know her, he finds that Chloe has a side to her that more than appeals to him. Her genius and her fearlessness has him wanting more. They make an awesome couple, and Kyle becomes her “Chloe Whisperer” as she begins to trust him, love him, respect him. I loved their love story, Daddy and Bae. You’ll get that when you read the story, but that was only one facet of this novel.

HER WARRIOR gives the reader so much more than Kyle's and Chloe’s story. It also ties up a plethora of loose ends that are introduced in previous books of the series. For example, the true nature of Dr. Camille Smith is revealed, Justin Black’s return to his family is fully explained, and Chloe’s adversarial attitude toward her family is brought to light. I wouldn’t dare spoil these outcomes for you, but be advised that they are resolved in true D Camille fashion. Buckle your seat belts!

While these conundrums are being solved, we are introduced to new characters we are sure to see again. It seems that Ray, in his role as Sun God, has a whole African village of relatives. Who knew? When going against the bad guys in Columbia, Ray’s relatives, the Blackman brothers, Mel, short for Melanated, Onyx, Ebon, and Slate, from the Motherland make an appearance. Look for Mel’s story to debut sometime next year.

I can go on and on, but I’ll stop and give you a chance to catch up with this series or one-click
HER WARRIOR. D Camille, the prolific author, is to be commended for providing us with hours of awe-inspiring reading. HER WARRIOR may mark the end of an era, but we have more to look forward to in the coming months from the Blackmans to the Baby Diamonds!  If, by some remote chance, you are not familiar with this series, take my advice, do yourself a favor and get your read on. I promise you will not be disappointed.
