REVIEW: Billionaire Jonathan Porter is a world traveler and oilman. He has no plans to become a father anytime soon. However, those plans are changed when the attorney heading the legal department of Porter Oil informs him that he is the father of an eleven-month-old baby boy. He flies back to Texas immediately. Jonathan embraces the role of fatherhood and looks forward to being the best father he can. He had a lot to learn but is committed to changing his life to take care of his son. Vivienne Fortune comes on the scene when Jonathan accuses someone on her payroll of stealing a family heirloom from his front lawn. Vivienne confronts the handsome oilman and denies that any of her employees could be responsible for the theft. And furthermore he isn’t the only one victimized by a rash of thefts. They begin spending time together and their relationship grows into love even though they fight it until they can’t.
Jonathan is a member of the richest black family in Texas. Porter oil keeps him very business in Texas and abroad. He’s never had time for a personal life until now. He has a son to take care of. Vivienne is the foreman of Fortune’s Gold ranch. A title she worked hard to achieve. With her new responsibilities she has sworn off men, especially since they seem to see her as an ATM machine when they find out her last name is Fortune.
TO CATCH A FORTUNE is an awesome read with great characters. The author has put together two characters who are commitment shy because of their bank accounts but also because of past relationships. It’s a romantic page turner that keeps you captivated to see how things develop between Jonathan and Vivienne who have so much love to give to the right person. They discover that they have the capacity to love each other for ever. They added bonus is that baby Daniel gets a mother he adores and who already loves him as her own. Great job Ms. Alers! I couldn’t put this book down.
I enjoyed reading Vivienne and Jonathan’s story in TO CATCH A FORTUNE. Watching them become team Fortune and Porter was fascinating with baby Daniel leading the way. You’re going to love this story as much as I did.
