REVIEW: Keisha Prado runs Prado Investigations with the help of her exceptional receptionist, Deidre Prado Reynolds, who happens to be Keisha’s cousin. But business is not as lucrative as she would like. Rami Sloeinski inherited a private investigation agency that isn’t doing much better than Keisha’s. Deidre encourages them to combine the agencies and renovate the office to attract a better clientele. The new office is renovated courtesy of Deirdre and business picks up. The newly formed agency is a combination of Keisha and Rami’s last name and is now Prado Sloe Investigations. Their first case is to find an award winning show dog named Snook’ ums. A white Peekapoo who disappeared wearing a diamond necklace. Her owner is desperate to find her and leaves a hefty retainer. This case can open up doors for them. Keisha and Rami work well together even though their banter gets heated at times because of the underlying chemistry slowly developing.
Keisha is a Former Federal Law Enforcement Training Center instructor who decided to become a PI. Rami is a Former NYPD detective who inherited a private investigation agency from his father. When the two of them combine their years of experience, there is no case they can’t solve.
With PRADO SLOE: THE CASE OF THE DIRTY DOG, Ms. Gaines pens a fast-paced, page-turning, hilarious story. There are some twist and turns to keep you wondering what might be coming next. The first scene is so funny you might laugh yourself silly. With the hodgepodge of funny characters including family members on both sides of the main characters, Ms. Gaines has created a novella to keep you laughing and reading from beginning to end. The characters are also well-developed, very likeable, and believable. One such character is Jack the Crack, named by the office receptionist for obvious reasons. Jack is hired to renovate the office, and he is a crucial part of this narrative. This is an entertaining and enjoyable read. I can’t wait for the next one!
