REVIEW: Alexis Douglas's brother’s death is suspicious. The police report ruled his death as a suicide. But Alexis knows that her brother would never kill himself no matter what the circumstances. When someone breaks into her home and threatens her, it confirms what she already knows. Her brother was murdered. Since the police will not help her, she contacts TJ Roman, her brother’s old friend. With very little to go on, TJ decides to help her. The more questions they ask, the more dangerous it becomes for Alexis and TJ. Alexis and TJ are also getting closer as they get closer to the truth. Alexis finds several things about her beloved brother she did not know. Regardless, she remained firm that Mark did not harm himself. Several attempts are made on their lives. The killer is getting bolder in his pursuit to silence them before they discover the truth. TJ vows to keep Alexis safe whatever they find.

Alexis is a personal chef with several private clients. Her future endeavors include possibly partnering with a friend to start their own restaurant and Alexis would be the executive chef. TJ is a private investigator employed by West Investigations. His normal cases include fraud and adultery investigations. He makes an exception for a friend but soon feels he is in over his head with a complicated murder investigation.

SILENCED WITNESS, West Investigations (Book #9) is an excellent whodunit with conflict, secrets, twists, and turns that make solving the crime difficult unless you have a good PI. I love this author’s action-packed stories. The mystery surrounding the crime is thrilling. The characters are well-defined and some are scary. But that is what makes you keep turning the pages to see where the end will lead. And of course, Alexis and TJ make an excellent team working together to bring her brother’s killers to justice. The closer they come to the truth the more dangerous it becomes for them. But Alexis has no intention of stopping. Her brother did not commit suicide and she intends to prove it.

SILENCED WITNESS is a whodunit that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I recommend it because it is a great read, and you will not be able to put it down once you start reading.
