REVIEW: Elle Wright and her author friends have collaborated on another themed series, Bae Reimagined. This time the crew has reimagined fairy tales. REDDICK’S TALE is Wright’s unique spin on the classic fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood. Set in the small town of Wellspring, Michigan, the story introduces readers to Reddick Walker, a brooding hero devoted to helping his Nana, Theodora Lee Walker, run her winery, Little Red Vines. Nana thinks someone is working to sabotage the business, then Reddick receives a call that she is sick while he’s halfway around the world. He turns to the one woman he has always loved…and avoided, for help.

Dr. Devyn Lawson sacrificed everything for Reddick once before, only for him to run. Their reunion, after years apart, reignites the passion, chemistry, and emotional connection between them. The physical attraction has never been the issue—it's their complicated feelings that stand in their way.

Devyn’s history with the Walker family adds to the story. After meeting Reddick when she crashed into him on her bike, they became close friends over the years and that evolved into more. Nana took Devyn under her wing because she was in a house full of boys. Now, she is determined to make sure Nana is okay and get to the bottom of what happened to her, while navigating what’s next between her and Reddick.

This second chance romance has plenty of spice. I also enjoyed the connections to the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale: The red hoodie, the loving grandmother and the “big bad wolf” to name a few. As Devyn and Reddick search for the villain, they find their way back to each other. This is an enjoyable novella and I highly recommend it.
