REVIEW: Welcome back to the U.N. Universe and the final book (Book #4) of the The DuBois-Arazi Family Series. Tweede Kans Cove is the fictional town that serves as the homestead of the DuBois-Arazi clan. If you recall, we first visited this town in A PROMISE FULFILLED, Book #1 of this dynamic series. I love this family! They represent the cultures and traditions of Africa that transcend language barriers and continents. The last of the DuBois-Arazi siblings, Omar, is featured in this story, along with his soulmate, Tahra Slimani. Both of them are foodies extraordinaire! Omar is a renowned chef, and Tahra is a food critic, chef, and journalist who writes for the beautiful Limelight Magazine. (WYKYK!)
I love their love journey! First, Tahra is a woman of many secrets. Omar certainly has his hands full. What began as a casual affair, turns into so much more when Omar discovers that he has twin sons by Tahra. Kudos to Ms. Nwankwor who has an uncanny gift of giving us a love story that keeps you turning the pages. After the initial shock of discovering that he is a father, Omar immediately goes into dad mode and encompasses his sons into the embrace of the Dubois-Arazi family. Tahra gladly accepts the change to her life and feels confident that their sons are better off. Yet, she still does not completely open up to Omar about her past. Big mistake! When it hits the fan, Tahra finds herself between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
I found myself highlighting several scenes that were significant to the storyline and contributed to the development of Tahra and Omar’s relationship. For example, the scene where the men of the family engage in a deep conversation discussing their faith in God as well as promoting therapy that improved their mental health is enlightening. The heartfelt talk that Grandma Olly, the Matriarch of the family, has with her adult grandchildren and their spouses; Omar and Tahra’s romantic interlude while on a private cruise, the Saffron Threads black tie affair, and the “Get My Fiancé Back Campaign” are all pivotal scenes in this story of family, faith, and forgiveness. The Epilogue secures Tahra and Omar’s HEA.
I have loved reading about the DuBois-Arazi family, beginning with A PROMISE FULFILLED (Yasmine & Kojo), DESTINY FULFILLED (Mustafa & Zaina), VOWS FULFILLED (Salma & Qasim), and now, LEGACY FULFILLED. I recommend this series for your reading pleasure. By the way, LEGACY FULFILLED comes with a downloadable recipe book at the end of the story titled Flavors Of Us courtesy of Omar and Tahra.
