ROMANTIC SUSPENSE

REVIEW: KNOX: The Secrets We Create is the conclusion of Elle Wright’s installment of the Once Upon a Murder Series. This time around each book has the same title. The book starts out from Monique Rivers’ perspective. I didn’t think it was possible to dislike her anymore, but after reading the prologue, I did. She is a terrible person.

The losses that Knox experienced over the years, thanks to Monique and her family, impacted his faith and he is finding his way back to himself. Knox and Harlow are settling into life together and going through a transition as their son Chaq is off to new adventures.  Ms. Wright’s signature style that includes fun family interactions is present throughout the book. One thing is for sure; Knox and Harlow’s passion for each other has grown stronger and they “get it in” when they need to.

We discover there is more to the friend group than meets the eye. The crew moves in the shadows and are determined to achieve their goal. Knox plays a critical role in the plan’s success and he and his friends finally get the satisfaction of seeing Monique pay for her transgressions. Harlow is committed to Knox and will protect him no matter what. As we learned in the first installment, she is his safe space and knows him better than anyone.

There was a touching scene with Knox and Harlow’s son Chaq that confirms that though Knox struggled with his faith, he and his dad instilled faith in his son. I also enjoyed seeing brief interactions with all the guys with the special women in their lives.

Without giving anything away, I’ll just say the open questions from
THE SECRETS WE HATE were answered. This was a great way to bring closure and I highly recommend the entire series.
