REVIEW: In the I.B. Universe, the next generation of protectors is a force to be reckoned with. We have seen James Avery Brooks, (PANTHER, Book #1) and his battle to promote LAW, Legacy and Wealth. Now, it’s time for the second member of Friends Forever (Calvin, JC, Elliott and James) to take his rightful position to champion the cause. Elliott Thompson, code name Jaguar, FBI trained and son of ex-agent, Brian Thompson, owner of Thompson Protection Agency, and the head of security for the President of the United States, takes the lead as the saga continues.
His first assignment as an agent is to protect world-renowned cellist, Calley Rippatoe. Not an easy task. Calley is being followed, and she is doing everything she can to hold onto her family’s land, and her beloved cello Emilia. Calley’s family ties are eroding because there are certain family members who are conspiring against her to sell the family’s valuable property to a company that builds fancy and expensive resorts. Not only is Calley entrusted with her family’s legacy, but Elliott is also. He is of African-Native American ancestry. While tasked with protecting Calley, Elliot is also tasked with leading his people to the freedom they deserve. Yes, fans, I said freedom. Elliott discovers that his tribe is being forced to live under the unscrupulous dictates of the local corrupt government headed by Sheriff Willy Wilcox, a man with no redeeming qualities. As the leader of the Tribal Council, Elliott is responsible for helping his people who are living in abject poverty.
There are so many facets to this story, and Iris Bolling brilliantly weaves them together to produce one heck of a story. Bad actors abound, like Arnold Vance, FBI Director. If you are familiar with the I.B. Universe, then that name will strike a familiar distasteful chord. Activated for duty to help Elliott’s commitment to “free” his people are Phire, Joshua, Slay, and Luke. IYKYK.
Despite all the mayhem, Elliott and Calley solidify their relationship and become exclusive. The “caramel lover” meets his match. You will get that when you read the story. At the end of the story, Calvin, the third man of the brotherhood, gets a call that activates him into “service.” I can’t wait for his story!
JAGUAR is an intense page-turner, and I recommend it for your reading pleasure. At stake are life changing factors for underserved communities that include acquiring and maintaining home ownership and generating generational wealth for the families involved. This next generation is all about the business.
