REVIEW: GUARDIAN DEFENDER by best-selling author Jacquelin Thomas is such an amazing and intriguing book! This book had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning until the ending. I normally don’t read this type of book, so I stepped out of my comfort zone and plus it’s a Jacquelin Thomas book. This book didn’t disappoint me at all.
In GUARDIAN DEFENDER, we meet Rylee Greenwood who is a former Homeland Security agent. She has been in witness protection since the death of her partner during a setup that left her injured. Shew had to leave her whole life behind and start anew. Rylee’s cover is blown, and her handler calls Kaleb Stone who is a former US Marshal to come and help him and Rylee. When Kaleb gets to the secret location, a murder has taken place. Rylee and Kaleb have to team up to solve the crime of the person who blew her cover as well as take down a dangerous cartel. Will they solve the crime in time to save Rylee? You will have to read GUARDIAN DEFENDER to find out!
What I loved about this book was the storyline and the plot. It definitely kept me on my toes! I was trying to solve the crime as well. I also loved the characters Rylee and Kaleb. They each had a past situation that they had to heal and move on from. There is a little romance along the way, and it didn’t take away from the story at all. I will definitely be reading more romance intrigue in the future.
Overall, I enjoyed reading GUARDIAN DEFENDER. It was an such an amazing experience to read such a good book by this author. She executed the story well. I also learned some things that I didn’t know about various law enforcement agencies.
