REVIEW: We are back in Moose Falls, Alaska and following the lives of the Stone brothers who have returned to Moose Falls, their hometown after growing up in Arizona. In FALLING FOR ALASKA, we got to know the first Stone brother, Xavier. In this story, we delve into the life of Caleb Stone. Caleb is an aspiring actor, who has suffered a career setback because of an unpleasant experience on a reality show. Although Caleb, along with his brothers Xavier and Landon, has decided to do everything he can to make sure his grandmother’s company, Yukon Cider, stays in the family, he still would like to be a part of the Hollywood scene.
When the story opens, the Stone family is preparing for an engagement party for Xavier and his bride-to-be, True Everett. During the party, Caleb spots a woman who is the photographer for the party. He likes what he sees, so he salutes her with his raised champagne glass, and she ignores him. Ouch! Caleb is not feeling that at all. Sophia Brand, the lady who snubs Caleb’s gesture, understands her assignment. She has been hired by Hattie Stone, the venerable owner of Yukon Cider and grandmother to the Stone brothers, to capture the event in pictures. It is a prime assignment, and she is not going to do anything to mess it up; even if it means ignoring Mr. Caleb “Super Fine” Stone who turns women’s heads everywhere he goes. She has a child, by a dead-beat baby daddy, to support, and this is a fantastic opportunity for her fledgling photography business. However, before the night is out, Sophia finds herself locked in an attic with who else…Caleb. I’ll allow you to discover how that happened.
Caleb and Sophia are destined to be together, and maybe Hattie has a little something to do with it. I’m just saying! The new Yukon Cider campaign with Sophia as the photographer featuring Caleb as the face of the company (at the behest of Hattie) certainly figures in bringing our couple closer together. I love it when a plan comes together! One of the most poignant scenes comes when Caleb has a talk with his father about the reason his mother left his father with her three sons in tow. Caleb and Sophia’s HFN is sweet and promising. Caleb’s flirting days are over for sure.
