REVIEW: The title, BLIND DATE WITH THE SPARE HEIR, gives the reader a great idea of what’s in store with this next installment of the Locketts Of Tuxedo Park Series. The theme is a twist on enemies to lovers. Elyse Harper is in public relations and has been trying to find a way into the Lockett family. Her goal is to right a wrong that involves her father. Julian Lockett is one of the team physicians for the Lockett’s team, the Atlanta Cougars. Now that his oldest brother is married, his mother is on a mission to play matchmaker. The self-proclaimed playboy is not having it.

Elyse has a goal, but she doesn’t plan on falling for Julian when her “blind date” with him turns in to more. Ms. St. John’s detailed descriptions of both the heroine and hero help the reader understand why they are smitten right away. Julian thinks that Elyse is a “goddess” who isn’t just beautiful, but “striking”. Julian is “sex personified” with “light brown eyes and a five o’clock shadow”. He’s quite a catch. Elyse is a change from the women Julian is used to dating, and he doesn’t understand why he is so enthralled. The connection is strong and organic, however Elyse and Julian both have ulterior motives.

The way Ms. St. John frames up the story made me interested in things that happened in the past. Eventually, details are revealed to give the reader a greater understanding. There is a situation when Elyse took some time away from work that seemed a bit unrealistic; however, the rest of the book flowed nicely, and it was an enjoyable read. It was good to get updates on the Lockett family, including siblings who may be featured in the next installment. I recommend
BLIND DATE WITH THE SPARE HEIR.
