REVIEW: We are back in Aspen Creek, Colorado, and brilliant storyteller, Kathy Douglass, introduces her readers to the 5th bachelor of the Aspen Creek Bachelors series. Cole Richards, a single dad of a 16-year-old daughter is a businessperson and a well-liked citizen of Aspen Creek. He has made a home for his daughter, Crystal, and has done an excellent job raising her without the presence of a mother figure. Their life in Aspen Creek has been fulfilling, and relatively uneventful, until Dr. Andrea Taylor arrives for a “vacation.”
Andrea and Cole have a history that goes back to their high school days in Chicago, IL. They were high school sweethearts who became lovers and eventually young parents. After the birth of their baby girl, Crystal, things took a turn for the worse. Andrea and Cole’s parents intervened, resulting in Andrea giving up the rights to Crystal and Cole, taking Crystal and raising her himself, without the support of his parents. When Andrea arrives in Aspen Creek, after sixteen years, Cole goes into Papa Bear mode while Crystal sees an opportunity for a companion for her dad. You will become engrossed in the twists, turns, and fragile family dynamics that this story brings. Two tropes, second chance romance and single dad skillfully drive the storyline. Kudos to author, Kathy Douglass.
A REUNION TO REMEMBER is a powerful addition to the Aspen Creek Bachelors series. It encompasses the hallmarks of Harlequin Special Edition Stories: “Believe in love. Overcome obstacles. Find happiness.” I recommend it for your reading pleasure.
