ABOUT THE AUTHOR

· What made you become a writer? The realization that everyone didn’t have stories in their head the way I did. I decided this must be a gift, so I followed the path I thought God intended for me.
· Describe a typical day for Rhonda. I begin my day with a big cup of tea or coffee and devotional time. I check emails, social media, and then my planner for deadlines. I start my son’s homeschool day, get some other work done in the late afternoon…usually more email and book marketing. I write at night, from ten p.m. until about two a.m. I make meals and chauffeur my son to activities, but that’s pretty much my routine.
· What is the most difficult part of the writing process? Getting the first draft done.
· What do you enjoy doing when you are not writing? Reading. Watching the hottest drama from one of the many streaming services I pay for. Watching weirdness on YouTube. Endlessly texting my friends and writer-buddies like a teenager.

ABOUT THE BOOKS
· How long have you been published and what is the name of your first book? I’ve been published since December 2009. My first novel was titled Secrets and Lies.
· Tell us a bit about THE THING ABOUT HOME.
THE THING ABOUT HOME
is the story of a disgraced social media influencer who flees to South Carolina’s Lowcountry in search of refuge and connection to family she’s never met.
The story is told in dual timeline moving from 1867 Georgetown, South Carolina to 2019, featuring three generations of women, including a 36-year-old woman named Casey Black, her 99-year-old grandmother, and her great-grandmother. The great-grandmother’s story is highlighted during the Reconstruction and Jim Crow eras, offering insight into her faith, family, history, and dreams.
I blended my three loves: historical fiction, women’s fiction, and romance.
· Why is ‘faith’ such an important part of the stories you write? My personal faith is the most important aspect of my life. Who I am naturally comes out in my writing. I don’t have to force it or figure it out.
· What is next for Rhonda?
ALL THEY LOVED,
the 10th book in my Bennett Family romance series, will be on sale August 15th. I’m excited to be writing my first neurodivergent character. My youngest son is autistic and while I’m not writing about an autistic person, I’m glad this book will star a hero with challenges that, in my opinion, make him much more interesting.
Next from Thomas Nelson is
BITTER AND SWEET. I love the title more each time I say it. In the story, a cryptic message from their grandmother reunites two estranged sisters at the site of the family’s eighty-five-year-old restaurant, where they must face complicated truths about themselves and their family history. April 2024.

ABOUT THE READERS

· If there was one thing you could tell your readers about Rhonda, what would it be? Wow. Great question. Call me Rhonda, not Miss or Mrs. McKnight. People are generous with respectability titles, but I’m super down to earth and friendly. Approach me. I’m glad to meet you too.
Study the craft of writing. Never stop being a student. Hire a good developmental editor—at least once and learn from them. I have written twenty-five books and I still get developmental feedback on my projects. Take writing classes and read craft books. Read in and out of the genre you write. Support the authors you enjoy with a preorder or at least a purchase during the week of release. You’ll want that good karma to come back to you one day.
· How can readers reach you?
