1. What made you want to
become a writer? And why romance?
As far back as I can remember, I was always scribbling on a piece of paper.
I have always enjoyed sitting down with a pen and a pad and creating short
stories to entertain my family and friends. I chose to write romance books
because I love to read them. I was ecstatic the first time I walked into a
grocery store and saw a black romance. I went home and read it and it gave
me the courage to try and write my own romance. Once I left the
prosecutor's office to care for my three children, I found I had the time to
write a novel.
2. Tell me a little bit about EVE'S PRESCRIPTION?
Eve Garrett, is a prosecutor and a widow who has buried her romantic feelings
with her husband. Her life revolves around her job and her son. That is until
she meets Noah. A chiseled, chocolate fireman, who unbeknownst to the rest of
the world, is a gentleman. Noah has just the equipment to revive Eve’s
emotions from six feet under. The sexual tension between these two is
incredible, and when it’s combined with the rich character and relationship
development, the result is a book that’s a page-turner. Also, Eve’s
Prescription is funny, cleverly written with a distinct Seattle flavor.
3. Besides writing what do you like to do?
I'm getting a little old for it, but I love to play basketball. Also, I
enjoy swimming and bike riding. Of course, I love to read especially when
I'm doing my other favorite pastime, which is traveling. Laying on some
exotic beach with a book and a cool drink sounds like heaven to me.
4. Are you a full-time writer?
Oh, it's more like three fourths. I have the kids, and although I am no
longer a prosecutor, I still take defense cases for friends and family.
Also, my husband has a few businesses and every once in a while I get drafted to
help out.
5. Tell us a bit about your journey to publication?
It was a year long marathon. For about nine months, I tried to get an
agent. When that didn't work, I decided to just send the manuscript
directly to publishers. So I looked up the submission guidelines on the
internet and did that. Genesis Press responded within three months, and I
must say that the Company has been great to work with.
6. What's next for Edwina Martin-Arnold?
I plan to keep on writing because I love the writing process.
7. Any special message for the aspiring author?
Just write and write and write. Don't worry about getting published
because I think that interferes with the creativity. Write for the joy of
writing and the rest will work itself out.
8. How can readers contact you?
