REVIEW: Talented writer, Suzette Harrison, regales her readers with a hot story that features the older woman-younger man romance. However, that’s not all there is to this story. Niyana Nichols, our 53-year-old widowed heroine, is a well-respected wellness clinic administrator destined to get her groove back when she meets 46-year-old divorced, African American Studies professor, Omari Josef. Niyana and Omari are intriguing characters because as accomplished as they are in their chosen professions, they are almost overpowered by personal issues that they thought were handled, locked away, and buried.

I love the humor Ms Harrison injects into her story at just the right moments. Niyana is outgoing, witty, self-sufficient and hard working. She and her sassy sidekick, Toni make a formidable pair as they deal with each other’s foibles with a brassy humor that will have you laughing out loud. Before Niyana meets Omari, the reader is aware that Niyana is experiencing a condition known as Alopecia. She handles it well with a varied assortment of wigs that are readily available to fit her mood and the occasion at the time. Problem solved, right? Well, things are not always what they seem. During the course of the story, we discover there are some realities that must be dealt with because they are not going away. Speaking of “not going away”, the same applies to our hero, Professor Josef. He is not intimidated at all by the age difference between him and Niyana. However, he is forced to deal with his past when it comes back to haunt him in the form of his ex-wife, Brenda; especially when he fought hard to rid himself of the fall-out from that marriage. At this point, the story takes a more serious tone. I love those little “Oh, Wow!” moments that the author weaves into the story. Omari and Niyana are one sizzling couple. By the time you get to the Epilogue, Niyana is in full “school is in session mode”. You’ll get that when you read the story. The HEA is wonderful!

The family members of both Niyana  and Omari play significant roles as side characters because they contribute a great deal to the development of the main characters. I must pause here to present an award to a character who is so deserving. The “Boo-Hiss Award” goes to Ms.Brenda, Omari’s ex.— just foul on so many levels. Don’t take my word for it. You can always purchase a copy, and see for yourself.

THIS TIME ALWAYS is an entertaining, enlightening and enjoyable story, and I recommend it for your reading pleasure
