REVIEW: St. Simons Island, Georgia, is the beautiful backdrop for Candace Shaw’s Precious Moments Series.  Precious Moments is the name of the popular event planning company that employs our head photographer heroine, Brooklyn Vincent. Brooklyn has a lot going for her, and she is also pondering some life altering decisions. As if that wasn’t enough to have on her mind, Chase Arrington, scion of the successful Arrington family of Memphis, Tennessee, decides to visit St. Simons before stepping into the next phase of his life, taking over the family’s prestigious law firm that his mother ran.

While on St. Simons Island, Chase becomes enamored with Brooklyn, and she with him. Brooklyn has some personal issues that she is dealing with or trying to figure out, so a permanent relationship with charming Chase is not on her radar. Chase, on the other hand, is all in, and determined to win over Brooklyn.

I love their love story, and the cast of characters who play their parts well in encouraging Brooklyn and Chase’s relationship. While Brooklyn has always had a crush on Chase, he, in turn, has always admired her from a distance. It’s no wonder that when these two finally come together and explore those feelings they have, it’s electric! Yet, lurking in the background is the fact that Chase will be returning to Memphis, and Brooklyn will be still trying to figure out her next career move. They both understand that a long-distance relationship is not in their future. Decisions, Decisions.

I love book families, and the Arringtons are one of my favorites. It’s like a mini-Arrington family reunion. They also play pivotal side character roles, along with Brooklyn’s brother, Rasheed, in helping to move the storyline along. Creative writer, Candace Shaw, also surprises us with a newly found Arrington family member. I’ll let you discover who this character is. The HEA is everything a reader could ask for, because all the previous doubts and problems fade away.

THEN THERE WAS YOU is a great read. I recommend it for your reading pleasure. You can read this well-written story as a stand-alone, but I also urge you to pick up copies of FOR THE LOVE OF YOU (Book #1) and WHEN I FELL FOR YOU (Book #2) of this series. You can thank me later.
