REVIEW: The Texas Cattleman’s Club series is a multi-author on-going series to which talented author, Reese Ryan, is undoubtedly making a noteworthy contribution. SECRET HEIR SEDUCTION, featuring Darius Taylor-Pratt and Audra Lee Covington is a compelling story that quickly captures the reader.

Darius travels to Royal, Texas from his home in Los Angeles under the premise of a new business venture with a reality TV star, Miranda Dupree. However, you will discover, along with Darius, the real reason he has been asked to travel to Royal. I like the way the storyline develops from this point. Ms. Ryan deftly combines family secrets, second chance romance, and steamy love scenes to produce a story that is entertaining and engaging. First, Darius is confronted with some staggering news that will change his life forever. He keeps this news under wrap; not even sharing it with Audra, his grad school ex-girlfriend, who happens to be in Royal, Texas for business reasons also. Coincidence? I’ll let you discover that for yourself. I will say, however, that they rekindle their relationship after being apart for five years. Darius and Audra make a great couple. They are highly successful in their fields and clearly still have a “thing” for each other. Yet, there is the proverbial elephant in the room that is always there between them. It’s a great plot point that enhances the storyline.

There are numerous side characters who contribute to the storyline in a big way. Some of them have appeared in previous
Texas Cattleman Inheritance stories. The Blackwood Family members have substantial side character roles. Kellan Blackwood (TEMPTING THE TEXAN) and his sister, Sophie (FROM BOARDROOM TO BEDROOM) are two such characters. Ms. Ryan did a notable job in maintaining the series’ continuity through these characters. The HEA for Darius and Audra is wonderful!

I enjoyed Reese Ryan’s contribution to this series.
SECRET HEIR SEDUCTION is a good read, and I recommend it. She is a talented and creative writer who knows how to engage the reader. I actually read this story as a stand-alone, and I look forward to reading more of her contributions to the Harlequin Desire line.
