REVIEW: QUEEN MOVE by USA Today Best-Selling Author Kennedy Ryan is the most amazing book that I have read by far. This book is the most phenomenal book of 2020. I would suggest reading THE KING MAKER and THE REBEL KING before reading QUEEN MOVE so you will be familiar with the characters.
QUEEN MOVE gives us the story of Kimba Allen and Dr. Ezra Stern. Kimba has just helped Maxim Cade get elected President and Ezra has opened up at school. The book begins with the death of Kimba’s father and the funeral. This is where the childhood friends, since they were in diapers, see each other again. When they see each other again, the chemistry is still strong between the two. That is the last time Kimba and Ezra see each other again until Kimba comes home for a few weeks to present Ezra an award from their family’s foundation. Kimba has found out some heart breaking news that can affect the rest of her life. Ezra and his girlfriend of ten years decided to end their relationship. This leaves both Kimba and Ezra to reflect and decide what direction they want their lives to take. Will the childhood friends decide to finally give in to the attraction that has been sizzling since they were younger? Will Kimba and Ezra get what they are seeking? Will the pair get their happy ever after? You will have to read QUEEN MOVE to find out!
What I loved about this book was the way that Mrs. Ryan told the story of Kimba and Ezra. She took us on journey about their lives from when they were children up to adulthood that was easy to follow. You didn’t get lost from moving from the past to present day. It also didn’t take away from the story. I also loved how Mrs. Ryan explored the different cultures and religions. The storyline and the plot flowed seamlessly. There is plenty of romance, as well as some intrigue, mystery, and drama. QUEEN MOVE kept me engaged to the point where I had to find out what happens next! Mrs. Ryan shows us in this book the true meaning of what it means to be a friend. To have that special someone to share your secrets, dreams, and accomplishments as you go through life. Mrs. Ryan also shows us that the love that you are seeking is right at home. She also shows us that best friends can become lovers and have a fulfilling successful relationship.
