AT YOUR SERVICE - A.C. Arthur
REVIEWER: Brenda Larnell | RATING: A
REVIEW: A.C. Arthur strikes again! Get ready to settle in for a well written love story that utilizes a tried and true trope, the fake relationship. Nina Fuller and Major Gold find themselves in a scorching fake engagement that starts out as a “good for business” agreement. Major is a tech executive at his family’s highly successful Fashion House. Nina is the owner of “At Your Service”, a fashion accessory app that she pitches to the Gold fashion execs. Before that meeting ends, she and Major find themselves in a lucrative business arrangement that will only work if they become an engaged couple. How did they get there? You have to read the story to find out.
I love this couple, and I like how the author connects technology and the world of fashion through them. They are really computer geeks at heart, who get caught up in the competitive nature of the fashion business. Major and Nina really are made for each other. From the first time they literally run into each other, the heat between them is intense. The opening scene is one of my favorites. No one writes a love scene like A.C. Arthur. Nina and Major handle business in the boardroom and the bedroom as you will see. However, there is that one thing that almost derails their perfect “fake” relationship. Personal secrets, agendas, and past hurts can not be faked, and they have to be dealt with. One of the strong points of the story is how Nina and Major handle them.
The side characters contribute to the intrigue of the story and the development of the main characters. The Golds are prominent as they help to perpetuate the fake engagement. Riley Gold (A PRIVATE AFFAIR) is present along with the other Gold family members who run RGF, the family business. You will also meet Nina’s family, her sisters and dad. Man, those sisters are something else. Also, check out the Golds’ connection to another A.C. Arthur’s premier book family. The HEA will leave you totally satisfied.
AT YOUR SERVICE is an entertaining and captivating story that I recommend for your reading pleasure. It is the second story of The Fabulous Golds Series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. After you read this book, I guarantee that you will want to read the first installment, A PRIVATE AFFAIR. You can thank me later.
