A COWBOY TO REMEMBER - Rebekah Weatherspoon
REVIEWER: Shirley Fleming | RATING: A
REVIEW: Chef Evie Buchanan falls down a flight of stairs at a holiday party and wakes up in the hospital with no memory of what happened. Her agent calls her emergency contact, and Evie comes face to face with a past she doesn’t remember. The one person Evie vaguely remembers is Zach Pleasant, but only because he has been haunting her dreams. Zach and his brother arrive in New York to take Evie back home with them so she can rest and recover. Zach sees this as a chance for him to repair his relationship with Evie. Unbeknown to her, Zach let her down at a tragic time in her life, and she never forgave him. They haven’t spoken in ten years, but Evie doesn’t remember any of this. In the meantime, it has been discovered that Evie may be in danger. Her fall may not have been an accident as first assumed. Until her memory returns, the Pleasant brothers intend to keep her safe.
Evie is a celebrity chef on a popular cooking show. The small-town girl made it big in New York. The cooking show is just a stepping-stone for bigger things. Evie’s ultimate goal has always been to open her own restaurant. A dream she’s had for a long time. Zach is a cocky former rodeo star. Nowadays, he runs Big Rock Ranch, an exclusive luxury dude ranch in California with his older brother, Jesse.
A COWBOY TO REMEMBER is the first book in a new series for author Rebekah Weatherspoon. The story is well-written and has a good plot with great characters. Miss Leona is a very memorable character. The pace moves along smoothly with no slow down. I love the storyline of the amnesiac and the handsome cowboy. It made interesting reading as Evie and Zach maneuver their way through a situation that only one of them can remember. These two have a past they need to revisit to have the future they should have had. The author did an all-around good job with this book, especially the details revealing the past leading up to Evie regaining her memory. Good writing!
A COWBOY TO REMEMBER is an intriguing first read in this series. I enjoyed reading about Zach and Evie. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for Jesse and Sam Pleasant
