REVIEW: WRITTEN WITH LOVE marks the last Kimani Romance story for gifted author, Joy Avery, and it’s an excellent finale. Nursing a broken heart, Zahra Hart seeks solace, no distractions, and inspiration as she begins a two week stay at the North Carolina summer home of her literary agent. Zahra needs this time alone to finish her romance novel. Did I say alone? Wouldn’t you know it that pro football player, Gregor Carter, is also looking to jumpstart his career, reputation, and life by spending time at the same summer home. Houston, we have a problem!

First, I love the fact that the heroine is a romance writer and photographer. Moreover, Zahra is a writer in need of a bestseller. Not to mention that she needs to recover from a failed three-year relationship with a cheater. So, as she arrives at the beautiful, secluded summer home in Lake Lamont, North Carolina, Zahra is finding it pretty tough to write about a loving relationship. Lake Lamont is going to be the perfect spot to regain her “writing mojo”. Little did she know that her muse would make a personal appearance. You’ll get that when you read the book. Gregor, the highly touted and disappointing quarterback of the fictional Carolina Thoroughbreds professional football team is in a bad place, but I’ll let you read for yourself the circumstances that put him there. I enjoyed how the storyline unfolded from the realization that Zahra and Gregor had previously met, to the devastating, devious antics of Zahra’s ex-fiancé, to the Epilogue that includes a most gratifying HEA.

The side characters are well-rounded and help to move the storyline along - from “Old School”, Gregor’s moniker for his therapist, Dr. Reed to Zahra’s family, and her agent/friend Leona. I love a story with characters you love to hate. In this story, Zahra’s ex-fiancé, Braswell (especially Braswell) and Gregor’s ex, Selene certainly fall into that category.

WRITTEN WITH LOVE is a good read. It grabs the reader from the first page to the last. The heroine and hero’s love journey is the stuff that great romance stories are made of. I recommend WRITTEN WITH LOVE for your reading pleasure.
