REVIEW: Prolific writer, Kianna Alexander’s last Kimani Romance story is set in the Land of Enchantment and the small town of Grandeza, New Mexico.  The heroine, Dr. Robyn Chance, is a veterinarian for her family’s cattle ranch, one of the largest ranches operating in New Mexico. Her love interest is Troy Monroe, former high school flame who abruptly left town right before their prom. Now it’s fifteen years later, and they are reunited when Troy comes back to Grandeza.

As fate would have it, Troy is hired as the lead rancher for the Chance organization, so his and Robyn’s paths will cross daily. Robyn is reluctant to reunite with Troy because of the way he left some fifteen years ago. I won’t give away the details of his departure, but just know that it broke Robyn’s heart. The storyline delves into the couple restoring their relationship. One of the highlights that serves as a connection for Robyn and Troy becoming reacquainted is their outing to the Ghost Ranch, the Florence Hayley Ellis Museum of Anthropology, and the Ruth Hall Museum of Paleontology. Kudos to author Kianna Alexander for successfully incorporating these sites into the story. It added authenticity to the setting and exposure to the culture of that part of the country. Another key highlight in the story deals with the secret that Robyn is keeping from her parents and from Troy. She is also dealing with a devastating childhood experience that she has to come to grips with. No spoilers. You’ll understand when you read the story.

The stand-out side character award goes to Troy’s grandmother, Jeannie, his only living relative left in Grandeza. It is her failing health that brings Troy back to his hometown. Her sage advice to Troy is priceless, and not only is she wise, but a financial guru. You’ll catch that when you read the story. The HEA is very gratifying.

I enjoyed this heartwarming story. It is a special finale to the author’s connection to the “Kimani” Romance stories. I recommend
THEN CAME YOU for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!
