REVIEW: OFF LIMITS LOVERS features an interracial couple who are caught in the middle of an on-going family feud. Furthermore, there is a mystery villain who stirs up devastating conflict, suspense, murder and mayhem. Annabel Currin and Roarke Perry, the featured couple of this story are immediately attracted to each other in spite of a long-time conflict between the two families. Annabel and Roarke are not the only couple that should be off-limits. The patriarch of the Currin family and sworn enemy of Sterling Perry, Ryder, is also in love with Roarke’s sister, Angela. These love liaisons do not sit well with Sterling Perry, the hard-driving Patriarch of the Sterling clan. However, Sterling has his own troubles that has him outfitted with an ankle monitor courtesy of the court system. It’s complicated, but it makes for a great storyline. Kudos to author Reese Ryan’s writing skills as she continues the Texas Cattlemen Series storyline and adds her own creative plot points to enhance the series.

Both Annabel and Roarke, and Angela and Ryder’s backstories are tied to a never proven rumor that centers around birthright. It is never proven until this story. I’ll let you discover why this is such an issue. However, I will say that the results finally bring some resolution to both families that has gone on for too long, and the cause of some very loathsome ill feelings between father and son. No spoilers; you’ll have to read the story. I like Annabel and Roarke as a couple. The chemistry between them is strong. Outside of the fact that their fathers are sworn enemies, they have some “complications” they must overcome in order to solidify their relationship. The issues are painstakingly resolved in such a manner that makes this story a page-turner. I read this book as a stand-alone. I have not read any of the books of this series, and I was thoroughly impressed with the author’s style and technique that made it easy to follow the storyline.

The side characters are mostly comprised of family members and friends from both sides. They do well in helping to move the storyline along. I am especially drawn to Mason, Annabel’s ex-fiancé and Maya, Annabel’s younger adopted sister. You’ll get that when you read the story. The HEA is quite satisfying. However, the Epilogue is the proverbial icing-on-the-cake! It calls for a must read of the next book in the series.

OFF LIMITS LOVER is a great read, and I recommend it. Like I said before, I read it as a stand-alone which is a testament to Reese Ryan’s ingenious writing savvy. Check it out and enjoy.
