REVIEW: Zoologist Petra Gaines decides to spend the night with Chance Youngblood and didn’t expect to see him again. She definitely didn’t expect him to be the Investor that could potentially save the company that funds her research. Chance is a highly successful businessman in the Entertainment industry. Even though the two didn’t share their real names, conveniently going by C and Pet, Chance and Petra definitely make a connection.

Ms. Sims has written Chance as a no nonsense business man. To say he is forward is an understatement. He is also impatient and stubborn, and he wants immediate results in all areas of his life. Petra has to make sure Chance knows she’s not a business deal he is trying to close. I like that Chance is honest and up front about his feelings. Petra is very passionate about her work. She’s also transparent and allows herself to be vulnerable.

Over time, it becomes clear that Petra and Chance are more than just business partners. They are discreet in their professional circle; however, it’s never really revealed that they are a couple, and at a certain point it’s unavoidable.

CHERISH MY HEART is the final book featuring the Gaines Sisters, however this is my first read by Ms. Sims. Those who have followed the series, get great updates on the rest of the family. I really enjoyed reading about the relationship Petra has with her sisters. Chance also has a close relationship with his siblings (even Brock, who can be difficult). They both have a deep love for their families, and that’s a common theme for them. Ms. Sims provides plenty of detail to keep the reader engaged. There is also a twist that the reader isn’t expecting. Overall, this is a good read and I enjoyed it.
