WHEN LOVE CALLS is a delightful novella that highlights second chance love with “seasoned’ lovers. Dexter Jenkins and Mona Gregory are the seasoned couple who decide it’s time to get back into the dating game. The story is set in Cincinnati which is perfect because it gives the followers of the Jenkins Family Series a chance to reunite with members of the Jenkins Clan.

Dexter and Mona’s story is captivating. They are both trying to forge a new path in life and to put their respective pasts behind them. It is their pasts which continue to haunt them. Mona’s past is more physical, and Dexter’s past is more mental. Without going into any details or divulging any spoilers, you’ll get that when you read the story. While Dexter is looking to settle down with that special someone, Mona is looking forward to enjoying her independence. You will understand her reluctance when you meet Russell, Mona’s ex. Their relationship is complex, and when she left him in
LOVE UNDER CONTRACT (Book #1), we had no idea how grave the situation was between them. Author, Sharon C. Cooper does an admirable job in conveying Russell’s grave condition. However, Dexter’s persistence is no match for Mona’s reluctance even with the demons he is fighting. I appreciated their love journey.

It is very refreshing to read about a mature couple who get a second chance at love. This story has it all: romance, passion, tension, a serious subject matter, and a delightful HEA. I recommend it, but you don’t have to take my word for it. Pick up a copy or download the Ebook and see for yourself. As the saying goes, “When love calls, you have to answer”.
