REVIEW: Destin meets Nicole at a time in his life when he is still recovering from the death of his wife.  Neither one is looking for love especially Nicole.  She has her life all mapped out and love has no part in it. On the other hand, Destin only wants the land he is desperately trying to obtain. Destin and Nicole are on opposite sides of a land deal and both are intent on winning. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Their mutually fierce attraction keeps them off balance as they walk a very thin line between desire and destiny. Destin confesses a secret to Nicole and swears her to secrecy even though she represents the enemy in his eyes. When the secret is discovered, Destin believes that Nicole betrayed him and walks away.

Destin Dechamps is a handsome French vintner who creates the most exquisite wines for his family’s company.  He survived a tragic loss in his life both personal and business wise.  His single-mindedness to get back that which is his is at the forefront of his life daily. Nicole Parks is a very talented international real estate agent at the top of her game. Not only is she good at her job, when it comes to fine wines she has a very discerning palate which affords her the unique talent to ferret out the different ingredients.

A TASTE OF DESIRE is a very apt title for this book. The hero and heroine definitely crave each other. When those two are in a room together, it’s like an invisible live wire is pulling them towards each other. They try to fight the attraction but it’s a lost cause. Brazil is the backdrop for this sexy, romantic and sometimes amusing read. The author put two amazing, strong, independent characters together and it works. Their differences make it difficult but not impossible for Nicole and Destin. The other characters bring their own unique qualities to this narrative. Ms. Blake’s writing and attention to detail and characterization make this a very interesting novel. The pacing is good and interactions between the characters are realistic and on point.

I enjoyed this story immensely and plan to read more of
Chloe Blake’s work.  I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good writing and stories with happy endings.
