REVIEW: St. Simons Island, Georgia is the setting for this story that features Reagan Richardson, the head event planner of Precious Moments Events and Dr. Blake Harrison, who has expanded his medical practice to St. Simon’s Island. St. Simons is a familiar setting because it also served as the backdrop for the first story of this series, FOR THE LOVE OF YOU. For all the avid Romance genre readers, WHEN I FELL FOR YOU will captivate you from the first page.

Reagan Richardson has commitment issues, and she knows it. Those issues stem from her childhood experiences. I won’t reveal her backstory, but I will say that it has influenced her present status as a single woman with a reputation for being very picky. However, when she meets Dr. Blake Harrison, there is an immediate attraction which puzzles her. On the other hand, the good doctor is also immediately smitten with Reagan, but he is not trying to hold back or deny his feelings for her. He immediately knows that “she is the one”. The dilemma that he faces is convincing Reagan that they are meant to be together, and that she can trust him.

There is a subplot of a serious nature that author Candace Shaw smoothly incorporates into this story. It involves Reagan, her brother Justin, and their father. It is of a medical nature, and it not only supports the main plot, but it also lends depth to the story.

One of the best features of this book is the connection to the Arrington family members of Memphis. If you are familiar with the Arrington Family five book series, then you will recognize characters from that series who either appear or are mentioned in this book. As a matter of fact, Justin, Reagan’s brother is married to Shelbi Arrington from
COOKING UP LOVE, (Book #1). Also mentioned is Chase Arrington, Shelbi’s brother, who is the subject of a possible love match with Brooklyn, the photographer for Precious Moments Events. Could these two be the protagonists for Book 3? We can only hope.

I enjoyed this story from the beginning to the HEA end.
WHEN I FELL FOR YOU is a delightful contemporary romance that I believe you will enjoy also, and I recommend it. As usual, I urge you to read Book 1 first if possible. By the way, I also recommend the Arrington Family Series. The connection is priceless.
