EMBRACING FOREVER - Sheryl Lister
REVIEWER: Brenda Larnell | RATING: A
REVIEW: First, let me say that I love a good ‘friend to lovers’ story. Author Sheryl Lister, explores this theme with two unforgettable characters, Raven Holloway and Bryson Montgomery. The story begins in Rosewood Heights, South Carolina where the heroine, Raven is from. She is a Bridesmaid in her best friend’s wedding, along with her three other besties. These five women, Raven, MacKenzie, Ava, Ryleigh and Quinn have been friends since childhood. As the story opens, Ava is getting married, and the four bridesmaids are toasting to a pact initiated by Quinn.
The pact, the agreement between the four best friends to be married within a year, serves as a catalyst for the events that occur in the story. Reluctantly Raven agreed, but her luck in the relationship department has not been the best. Not only does Raven share a childhood friendship with four women, but she also has a close friendship with Bryson Montgomery that goes back to their college days. Just as Raven confides in her four besties, she confides in Bryse. Just as her four besties know Raven’s moods, so does Bryse. Their relationship eventually takes a turn, and they find themselves involved romantically. Raven is reluctant to explore their love connection, but Bryson is determined to show her that his love is exactly what she needs. Can these two best friends become soul mates? The answer to that question is the heart of the story, and you will have to read the story to find out if Raven and Bryson can erase past hurts and embrace each other.
The secondary characters are all in place- from Bryce’s buddies to Raven’s girlfriends. They all enhance the storyline and help to move it along at a easy pace. The bridesmaids’ presence in this story solidify the continuity between the books of this series.
I loved Raven and Bryson’s story. The HEA is to die for! I highly recommend this book and the other books in the Once Upon A Bridesmaid series. EMBRACING FOREVER can be read as a stand along, but I strongly suggest that you purchase the series and read them in order. You can thank me later.
