CHASE ME - Farrah Rochon
REVIEWER: Janet Caldwell | RATING: A
REVIEW: Indina Holmes, the heroine of this fourth installment of the Holmes Brothers Series, states at the beginning of the story that she is tired of chasing after love. Well, that remains to be seen as Indina, a Holmes’ sister, engages in a “friends with benefits” affair with Griffin Sims, a co-worker. So, what happens when one partner wants to take the ‘arrangement’ to the next step, and the other partner is satisfied with the way things are? That’s the number one dilemma that our couple faces.
A great portion of the setting for this story occurs on a three-day family reunion cruise to Mexico where Griffin accompanies Indina as her plus one. It’s the ideal backdrop because it not only delivers some scenic and descriptive views, but it also provides the perfect environment for reuniting the Holmes’ clan. They are all present; Indina’s father, aunt, uncle, brothers, cousins, their wives, and their children. One thing for sure when they get together, there is never a dull moment.
As the story develops, Indina and Griffin’s back stories are revealed, and the reader receives insight into the reason these two characters, who for months keep their relationship strictly for sexual pleasure, know very little about each other. It’s a complicated relationship, but not hopeless. By the end of the cruise, Griffin and Indina’s relationship has changed, but I’ll let you find out how when you read the book. Speaking of the end, one of the Holmes’ brothers, Ezra, is arrested. All I will say about that is book five of the next Holmes’ brothers series should be quite fascinating. I look forward to it.
Author, Farrah Rochon has penned another enjoyable read about the Holmes’ family, and I recommend it. CHASE ME can be read as a stand-alone, but do yourself a favor and read the first three books in this series in order to establish continuity and familiarity with this entertaining book family. You will not be disappointed
