WELCOME TO MISTYWOOD LANE - Reon Laudat
REVIEWER: Brenda Larnell | RATING: B+
REVIEW: WELCOME TO MISTYWOOD LANE is a delightful story that centers around the romantic ups and downs of Reese Sommers, the heroine, and Gabriel Cameron, the hero, who just happen to be next door neighbors on Mistywood Lane. Very convenient, right?
As a couple, Reese and Gabriel are perfect for each other. There is an instant attraction that neither one can ignore. Reese is an entrepreneur whose business is called the Sweet Spot Cup Cakery & Coffee Shop. Gabriel is a Veterinarian who, along with two friends, operate the East Mayfair Veterinary Hospital. He is also the author of children’s books. In spite of their busy schedules and life’s curves, their romance develops into more than just a “sweet distraction”. The protagonists have a lot in common: They both lead busy lives, they are animal lovers, they have previous relationships that did not work out, and their family and friends play important roles in their lives. Speaking of family and friends, this eclectic group of characters are witty and charming as they take on the role of trusted confidantes and advisors to the hero and heroine. My two favorites are Quinn, Reese’s sister and Lance, Cameron’s friend. I can see them featured in their own story.
The dialogue is humorous and playful. The author, Reon Laudet, does an excellent job of developing the storyline with everyday events that lead to plausible scenarios. For example, that overbearing neighbor who finally admits that her life is not as fulfilling as she would like it to be.
WELCOME TO MISTYWOOD LANE is a good read. For the Romance junkies, you can’t go wrong. There’s drama, sizzling chemistry between the hero and heroine, and a satisfying ending that hints of happily ever after. Try it; I think you will like it!
