REVIEW:  Executive Monique Evans has a job that keeps her busy and isn’t interested in any long term commitments in her life. She thought she was engaged to a wonderful man who was divorcing his wife to be with her. She found out a few years later that he was just playing her . She plays basketball on an office squad and is only interested in a friend with benefits. That means hot sizzling sex with no strings or attachments.  Monique has rules for a friend with benefits and initially Tao Samuels plays by those rules. How long can Monique stand by what she has put into place to guard her heart.

Tao Samuels is a team mate of Monique’s and a former Navy Seal who is an entrepreneur . He sees Monique as one of the guys initially and is also too busy to have anything more meaningful that friends with benefits or a one night stand. Tao has to drive Monique home after she has a disastrous blind date and she gets a little tipsy after hanging out with Tao and his friends. Just one electrical kiss changes Tao’s thought of Monique as a pal to Monique as a desirable woman. Both are under the assumption that they can be just friends with benefits. The question is what happens when you want to break the rules.

WHAT LIES BETWEEN LOVERS is a story that covers what happens when friends with benefits develops into something more. Once a person has been hurt, they normally go into protection mode and shy away from meeting someone new. The only thing that is good about good friends is that you are comfortable with that person, can talk with them about anything and you already love them for who they are. You just have to take the time to realize that your friend can one day be your lover. Very insightful and good book to read.
