SYNOPSIS:

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |3+| La-Tessa Montgomery

REVIEW:  Tabitha Harris has been looking for love in all the wrong places.  She wants her happily ever after and has mistakenly thought every man she’s dated in the past was the key to that dream.  Tired of getting her heart broken by deadbeats, Tabby has decided to take a break from the dating scene.  To bad Nico Valenti can’t get the sexy lady off his mind. Nico, known as the consummate ladies man, has been completely off his game since the two shared a passionate kiss.  But one kiss was all it took and he knew he had to have her.  There’s just one problem, Tabby wants forever and Nico’s just not a forever kind of guy.  Torn by his desire to claim her and his need to protect her, Nico agrees to her be her friend only.  But there is just so much temptation either can take when their feelings grow faster and bigger then either anticipated.

Unexpected Mr. Right is book two in Ms. Nyrae’s Friday’s at Luciano’s series.   And it picks up right where book one, Lucky with Luciano, leaves off.  In this installment, we get Tabby and Nico’s story, the couple that piqued my attention with the fireworks they caused in book one.

I commend Ms. Nyrae on her strong character development.  Tabby is a character that I think most women can identify with.  It’s was easy to emphathize with her plight and why she is driven to find someone to love her unconditionally.  I admired her decision to take some time away from the dating scene and work on getting herself together, before trying to find happiness in the arms of the next willing man.  Too bad for her, Nico. Mr. Sexy Italian himself, is determined to be that man.  While Nico is billed as a player, he is depth to him that makes it hard to not root for him.  And the fact that he could admit that he was indeed falling for Tabby and wanted forever with her, quickly up my opinions of him.

Set against the backdrop Kaylee and Luciano’s impending wedding, the secondary added a layer of spice to the story.  While this story stands on it’s own, it was nice to see the continuity of the two series.  And I can’t wait to see wants in store for Ms. Bri and Jackson.  All in all, this is a very good read, the only downside for me was the pacing.  At times it moved a bit too slow for me, making it hard for me to remain engaged in the story.

Overall, I recommend Unexpected Mr. Right to all romantics at heart.  It is a touching, sweet story of determination and love.
