SERIES ROMANCE |4|  Keren Childers

REVIEW: Author Kim Shaw graces us with another emotional and enlightening novel introducing Madison Daniels.  If you recall the first book in this series featured her sister, Kennedy Daniels, who had to deal with her bourgeois socialite parents looking down on her blue collar, worker man.  Well imagine Madison meeting a guy whose parents are doing the same thing to her.  Madison is open-minded, goes with the flow, and doesn’t dance to anyone’s tune but hers.  These traits have gotten her in a world of trouble in the past.  Beyond that she’s caring, exciting, and just wants to find herself.  Stevenson, on the other hand, is predictable when it comes to doing what his parents say.  He has a passionate streak about him, but he keeps it hidden until Madison brings it out. Emotions run high and both are caught off guard when this rollercoaster ride takes them to a place that they never have been.

I enjoyed the energy between Madison and Stevenson. The love scenes were intense and unpredictable. Madison is a strong black woman who stands her ground throughout, I admired that about her.  Stevenson, on the other hand, was a little weak for me at times.  He definitely is the total package though, he needs a woman like Madison to make him do spontaneous things.

The plot is full of secrets, twists, and turns throughout. Although the pace moved a little too slow for me at first, it definitely picked up.  Stevenson’s parents are the prime example of people who come from nothing, but once they get it, they immediately forget where they come from and the things they did to get it.  Don’t you just hate that?  I enjoyed the secondary characters Kennedy and Stevenson’s friend Noel.  They were very supportive throughout.

I enjoyed meeting the Daniels family again.  I commend Ms. Shaw on a job well done.  I definitely recommend reading this book, but by all means read the first book in this series SOUL CARESS first.  You’ll get more out of this book if you do.
