REVIEW:
THE DOCTOR’S PRIVATE VISIT is a tale of
neighbors who are both scared to fall in love and even more afraid of being
hurt. AlTonya Washington uses this novel to tell the story of Capri Timmons and
Tiberius Evans. Capri is a photographer who is determined to follow in her
sister’s footsteps even if she doesn’t truly believe in the way that they did
things. Tiberius (Tibe) is a doctor who has allowed his parents sham of a
marriage to jade his view on the subject. As Tiberius faces his biggest
challenge yet, he must decide if his fears are worth keeping him from the best
thing he has ever known.
Capri is sick and tired of living in Miami. As she begins to look for a place
outside the city; Rod, her boss and friend recommends one of his best friends’
houses that is for rent. As Capri and Tibe try to fight the undeniable
attraction between them, they become good friends and soon realize that a
relationship between them is inevitable. Dr. Tiberius Evans is used to bottling
up his feelings and working them out in his own way. He soon realizes that his
new tenant is nothing like this ladies man is used to. As he grows closer to
Capri, he realizes that he wants a sexual relationship with her but he doesn’t
want to loose their friendship. Tibe now has to decide if Capri is worth risking
his most prized possession, his heart.
The story takes place in Miami, a suburb outside Miami, and Key West. The trips
to Key West are influential to Capri and Tibe’s love story. The supporting
characters help Capri and Tibe navigate the ups and downs of relationships. The
dialogue is captivating and allows for the story to flow smoothly.
I loved
THE DOCTOR’S PRIVATE VISIT.
AlTonya Washington has another hit on her hands. I am thrilled that Capri and
Tiberius were able to work through their differences and find true love.
