REVIEW:  In this crazy world, full of corruption and strife, it is sometimes difficult to escape and take a load off.  Felicia Mason’s SWEET HARMONY relaxes you, taking you away from the pressures of life, propelling you into a small town where men and women aspire together to achieve a oneness in love, family and relationships.  It is, however, not an unrealistic read but breaks down the stereotypes and archetypes within the minds of the reader.

The two main characters, Marcus Ambrose and Kara Spencer are on the surface a highly unlikely match.  But in the midst of it all, they become immediately aware of each other when sparks fly, tempers are fuelled and the fire of passion is ignited within their hearts, setting the stage for what could be an interesting challenge for both characters.

Ms Mason molds the character of Kara into a person who hides behind the veneer of her psycho-analysis.  Her career threatens the very woman she has been created to be.  Kara blatantly denies this but ironically maintains within her life the stereotype of someone of her educational status. As Kara’s character is developed, the author awakes the questions in the heart of the reader, “Is there something missing in my life? Have I ignored the deepest yearnings and desires of my heart and can I really accept the road that I am presently on? Kara’s character intentionally or unintentionally stirs the heart of woman and gives her strength for her journey!

The saying goes, “never judge a book by its cover!”  Unfortunately, people have often stereotyped movie stars, musicians, actors, writers; placing them in the position of gods in some arenas and in others as uneducated puppets who are controlled by their fans. Ms. Mason goes against the ideal when she introduces the character of Marcus Ambrose.  Marcus’ description fits the ideal of a female idol but this character pulls down all imaginations associated with a musician of his caliber.  Marcus has had a tough life and has learned to surround himself with others to fight his loneliness.  He stumbles upon one to whom he can now give the love he sings about to, but the question is raised: “Can he complete her?”

SWEET HARMONY is a novel that places the harmony with the melody in the lives of Marcus and Kara making their lives sweeter.  Harmony in the music that swelled up in the soul of Kara, flowing out of the loins of Marcus, creating a prefect melody of love conquering all.
