SYNOPSIS: A
powerful story of a house bitterly divided--a rich, multilayered family saga of
betrayal and redemption, rage and compassion, faith, forgiveness, and
ultimately, of love.
INSPIRATIONAL FICTION |4++|

REVIEW: A
single, uneducated mother with only her faith in God for support had raised a
son who had not become a statistic—but a college graduate from a fancy Ivy
League school, a shrewd businessman with noteworthy achievements, a father, and
rich husband. Free will is a double-edged sword because you will reap the
consequences of your decisions based on the good or bad choices made.
Abraham “Sonny” Martin was a devoted son who fulfilled every promised made to
his mother—big house, money, stay at home and never work again, foreign cars,
travel, etc. Unfortunately, Abraham chose a quick route to success by marrying
Saralyn and fathering Isaac, and forsaking Leah and her illegitimate children
Michael and Deborah. His mothers instilled ethics that the world is yours if you
work hard and believe in yourself. Almost too late he learned to cherish his
families and not to let money and power become his god.
Saralyn Martin was a brilliant, beautiful, manipulative, ruthless, always get my
way, strong woman who did not fall apart when her husband did something
stupid--like having a mistress and fathering children and neglecting them. She
served as a faithful church member and leader of Bible study, but worked in the
family business to protect her son Isaac’s interest.
Leah Thomas, a smart community college teacher, kept several secrets in spite of
emotional, financial, and spiritual struggles. Can her two illegitimate children
overcome their anger, negative experiences, and struggles with unnecessary
poverty and rejection? Will her current relationship and secret lover be a
blessing?
Angela Benson has written a real jewel, complete with the element of surprise
and awesome twists and turns in SINS OF THE FATHER. Travel through Atlanta with
the beautiful, professional, multidimensional and complex characters with strong
personalities. Single ladies, there are several excellent references for meeting
Mr. Right. Several myths (or generational curses) are exposed. Should you trust
your heart, or use your head in matters of love?
SINS OF THE FATHER is an enjoyable read with themes of wealth, fame, success,
birthrights, secrets, adultery, legitimate/illegitimate children, revenge,
forgiveness, and unconditional love.
