CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4| Marguerite Lemons

REVIEW: Justine Roberts-Paretti is a photojournalist with a fearless, adventurous and inquisitive spirit. It is her sense of adventure and her love of the Native American culture and artifacts that leads her to Gallup, New Mexico, for the Intertribal Ceremonial Powwow-- and into the arms of one Darrius Red Sky. Darrius is the tall and sexy owner of Red Sky Jewelers. His sexy good looks, unlimited knowledge of his culture and his mystic combine to make him irresistible to Justine. Can Darrius tame Justine’s fearlessness, or will her inquisitive spirit lead her to her death?

Justine has known since she was a child that she wanted to be a photographer, and has let anything deter her from her goal. When she meets Darrius she realizes that she has never known what it’s like to be loved by her soul mate. Darrius, who posses’ some psychic abilities, has been praying to the elders and the universe for answers regarding his life and his soul mate. He is taken aback by Justine’s beauty the moment she enters his store. Justine and Darrius are two independent and successful people who both need to learn the meaning of compromise. Both have to learn to overcome past hurts and fears, and learn to embrace each other’s stubbornness. Justine’s best-friend and Darrius’ twin help them to realize what is really important in their lives.

RED SKY is a beautiful and historical trip through the Native American culture. Ms. Alexis does a great job weaving the Native American culture, customs, romance and beauty together. Justine and Darrius are characters the reader is able to relate too and love. The majority of the story takes place in New Mexico, along the famous Route 66, and the surrounding mountain ranges.

If you love a hot and sexy romance you will love Darrius and Justine’s story.
