SYNOPSIS:  Commercial Art buyer Avery Roberts always vibes off first impressions whether it’s art or men. When love and aspirations collide, heartbreak seems inevitable, until Quentin realizes he can’t picture a life without Avery.

SERIES ROMANCE |4 Anamaria Akins

REVIEW:  Having been reared by a prominent family, Avery Roberts has no need to work, but her desire to make it on her own will not allow her to use her family’s connections. With her first big art show underway for her new artist she encounters sexy and handsome Quentin Davis.

Unattached world renowned photojournalist Quentin Davis travels the world dating women from all walks of life with no long term commitments. Upon meeting Avery who quickly gets the nickname “Ice Queen” from Quentin and his friends, Malik, Sage and Dante. They propose Quentin with a $50 bet in order to try and win her over. Quentin accepts and begins the journey of chipping away at her cold exterior. A deep love develops, taking them to new levels; With their lives mixing in ways they never thought possible, which makes it impossible for their relationship to survive.

The smooth flow of the dialogue and the detailed description of the settings of New York City , helps the reader develop an understanding for all main and supporting characters, and issues within the novel.  The characters are very down to earth and genuine. They show their true feelings without hesitation and are very loyal and caring to each other.

PLAYING FOR KEEPS is a well–seasoned enjoyable read, that I recommend for others.  I look forward to the next installment of the Orphan series.
