SERIES ROMANCE |4| Marguerite Lemons

REVIEW:  Sarafina “Sara” Lovell has survived two heart-breaking relationships with the help of her Sorors. She is in the midst of celebrating her 25th birthday with friends, when her surprise gift arrives in the form of her “one”, Jackson Thomas. Jackson, the baby of the Thomas family and heir to the family business, jumped at the invitation from Sara’s sorority sisters to attend her party in Chicago. He hopes to make amends for breaking Sara’s heart and persuade her to give him a second chance at love.

Sara is a smart and successful woman who feels that she is unworthy of love. She blames Jackson completely for their break-up without stopping to think about what she could have done to fight for it. Jackson is a smart and loving man who has problems expressing his feelings. He also operates under the misguided notion that he has to forgo his happiness in order to please his parents, but it’s his love for Sara that finally makes him question his loyalties.

NO ONE BUT YOU is a story about the bonds forged on line when pledging a sorority, and a love that could not be extinguished regardless of time or distance. This is an interesting story, but at one point I became confused after a particular event and couldn’t figure out what happened. It seemed that the main characters suddenly decided to go their separate ways but there was no real indication that this happened. The timeline and facts became confusing when the focus switched back to the relationship. Sara’s sorors are supportive and encouraging from the beginning, but Jackson’s parents are the consummate “class” snobs whose selfishness seem to know no bounds.

NO ONE BUT YOU is a good read and I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
