SYNOPSIS: White
delivers a heart-stirring romance about a female doctor who has everything she
wants--except the man she loves.
CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4| Shelia
Johnson
REVIEW:
Dr. Brock Johnson walks out on his wife, Dr. Erika Johnson, to avoid telling her
the painful news of his diagnosis. In his mind, he is protecting her from the
pain his mother experienced with his father. Brock leaves without an explanation
and does not expect Erika to move on with her life. Seven months passes and she
meets a hunk of a brotha, Dr. Mark Garing. Mark says all the right things and of
course is willing and able to do all the right things. Erika is still in love
with Brock so she decides to take things slow with Mark until she finds out
what’s behind Brock’s sudden exit out of her life.
Brock Johnson is a well-respected doctor at Mission Hospital. Although he loves
his wife very much, his unknowingly controlling and insecure behavior is driving
Erika in the arms of another man. Once Brock finds out about Mark’s relationship
with Erika he decides to confront him. His first encounter with Mark alerts him
to dangerous underlying psychotic issues. Brock is determined to rescue Erika
from what’s lurking behind the façade of Mark Garing.
Dr. Erika Johnson is one of the most caring people in her profession. She goes
the extra mile with her patients and her compassion almost leads to her dismiss.
Erika is left to pick up the pieces when Brock walks out leaving broken dreams
and shattered promises. Although he is not like Brock, she can not deny Mark is
second best (so she thinks). By happenstance, Erika finds out about Brock’s
illness. She is floored when she finds out Brock elects not to tell her about
his illness and surgery.
Dr. Mark Garing appears to be the most eligible bachelor in the hospital. He is
handsome, intelligent, wealthy and charismatic. His family’s fortune manages to
keep the details of his violent and unstable past sealed. He is diagnosed with
every mental illness known to man. The voice he hears prompts him to drug and
sexually abuse Erika.
As you read
I NEED MORE, you begin asking how much
more can I take. Kimberely White filled the pages of her book with many
unpredictable twists and turns. Brock’s mother, Virginia, adds humor with her
quest to get her groove back at eighty years old. And then there’s Ginnifer who
has every woman weeping. She lives with two affectionate men and they all have a
good understanding of their time to share sexual favors with her. If you enjoy
romance and suspense glazed with humor, I
NEED MORE is a must read. I thoroughly
enjoyed reading this book.
