REVIEW:  Courtney Andrews is 29 years old and her biological clock isn't ticking, it's screaming. She's atttactive, intelligent and has a wonderful profession as a pharmaceutical representative but she's is unsure if she will ever really find true love and marry. She doesn't look at relationships as good since she has a father and uncle who's first names are; INFIDELITY. Her uncle Joe left his wife for his girlfriend and his father stays married to her mother to pay the child support he owes for his outside children. Sony, Courtney's cousin also had the same take no prisoner attitude until she met and fell in love with Mike. After Sonya says yes to Mike's proposal, she gives Courtney her LITTLE BLACK BOOK. Courtney accepts the book and agrees to call a few of the men and go out on a few dates in hopes of fining her prince charming. An embezzeler, A down-low brother, and an ego-manicial jerk are the sum of Courtney's dates and she wonders if she will find anyone worth while.

Lake Masters, is handsome, 39, single, and very successful. The second eldest of the Master's men, he only dates when he has to meet his needs. Lake sees Courtney by chance entering his cousin's office building and makes it his mission to find out everything about the beautiful woman. Lake has to go to Paris on business and while he is gone, he thinks of Courtney often. Upon his return, he meets Courtney at a welcome home party for Sonya and Mike. His family and friends want to help but he tells them, he can do things without their interference. Lake tells Courtney in no uncertain terms that she is destined to be his wife. Courtney feels the attraction but has a difficult time trusting in her feelings.

Brenda Jackson gives us another great installment of the Master's men and explores the damage that can develop when children observe infidelity and carry the mistrust into adulthood. Courtney's father was horrible to her mother in that he just couldn't and didn't want to be faithful and relied on the fact that her mother loved him and wanted the relationship to work. In the end, Courtney finds true love and caring and her mother finds out that she is a good person who deserves good also. As for her father, YOU NEVER MISS YOUR WATER UNTIL THE WELL RUNS DRY...
